Going Green

Green Hosp LogoAs a proud member of the South Carolina Green Hospitality Alliance and a Breathe Westin® hotel, we offer guests and attendees a completely smoke-free facility for a more clean, comfortable and healthy environment.  We also take additional environmental care throughout the hotel, shutting off power on floors not in use and keeping thermostats at optimal temperatures over summer and winter months to help curtail energy consumption.

In an effort to conserve water and reduce waste, we participate in the Westin Green program which allows guests the option to decline daily linen and terry change service.  We also donate bed linens, mattresses and towels to local charities when they are ready to be retired.

Daily newspapers and other paper, plastics, aluminum cans, cardboard and glass are recycled as well used cooking oil. We provide guests in-room cups made of 100% post consumable materials and buy local ingredients whenever possible.  Most of our food and beverage products are certified Organic and we serve only all-natural beef, pork, chicken and seafood products - unless otherwise requested.  What's more, our entire staff actively participates in a recycling program that includes use of the bins located in the front office, sales office, kitchen and housekeeping. Ask us how you can join in the effort to reduce our carbon footprint during your next stay at The Westin Poinsett, Greenville.

Have you heard about our new Heavenly Shower II? Our most recent green initiative provides guests with a luxurious spa-like shower experience while delivering a 50% reduction in water consumption over our current dual-headed shower.
